Agreeing to this licence
By installing or using the Telemetry Agent, you agree to this agreement. When you first sign in to Murretto, we ask you to accept it with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, and we record which version you accepted and when.
The Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy also apply to the agent. Where this agreement and the Terms say different things about the agent, this agreement applies. If you use the agent for a team, league or organisation, you confirm you may accept this agreement for it. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use the agent.
Your licence
Scorsa gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the Telemetry Agent on Windows PCs you own or are allowed to use, only to use Murretto.
The agent uploads nothing until you sign in with your Scorsa Account. What you can do with Murretto, including the features of your plan, is set by the Terms.
What you must not do
Don’t:
- modify the agent, or make works based on it;
- reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except as far as the law allows despite this restriction;
- sell, rent, lend, sublicense, redistribute or host it for others;
- remove or change its ownership or licence notices;
- use it to break a sim’s terms, a league’s or series’ rules, or the law;
- use it to get into accounts or data that aren’t yours, interfere with how it talks to Murretto, or overload or probe our services.
The acceptable use rules in the Terms apply to the agent too.
What the agent does on your PC
The agent does these things while it is running. The ones marked off by default only happen when you switch them on.
- Reads your sims. While you drive a supported sim that you haven’t switched off on its page, it reads the telemetry the sim publishes for tools like it and records your own session. For iRacing it also reads the
.ibttelemetry files and best-lap files the sim saves. For Assetto Corsa it reads the car and track names and preview images in the game’s content folder. - Captures onboard video (on by default). It captures the sim’s window only, never your desktop or other windows. Lap videos can carry the sim’s own sound. Face cam and radio clips stay off until you turn them on.
- Syncs setup folders you opt in (off until you opt a folder in). It uploads setup files only from the folders you opt in and leaves the rest of your garage alone. It never uploads your team folders or your “Murretto Purchased” folder this way.
- Mirrors team setup folders (iRacing, off by default). It keeps a “Murretto - <team>” folder in each iRacing car folder the same as your team’s setup folder, adding, changing and deleting files in both directions. A file the team deletes is moved to the agent’s own trash folder, not deleted. If you and the team both changed a file, your copy is kept beside theirs. If a pass would delete many files at once, it restores them instead.
- Copies ghost laps (iRacing, on by default). It uploads the best-lap and optimal-lap files iRacing saves for you, so your team-mates can load them. It only copies those files and never changes them.
- Installs what you send it. Setups and ghost laps you send to your sim from Murretto are written into the sim’s setup or lap-file folders, and never outside them. Ghost laps get a name of their own, so they never overwrite yours. Setups you buy for yourself go into a “Murretto Purchased” folder.
- Installs its add-ons only with your say-so. These are the Murretto app for Assetto Corsa, which needs Custom Shaders Patch that you install yourself, and the Murretto Tyres plugin for SimHub. It only writes and removes its own files there. When SimHub’s folder needs administrator rights, Windows asks you first.
- Acts in the sim only when you switch it on. The engineer’s voice, input cues and remote pit service are each off by default.
- Runs in the background. Closing its window keeps it running in the Windows notification area; choose Quit there to stop it. If you choose to start it with Windows, it starts hidden when you sign in to Windows. Only one copy runs at a time.
- Talks to other programs on your PC. Some features, such as the Assetto Corsa app and button-box control, connect to the agent through connections only programs on your own PC can reach. Button-box control is off by default.
- Keeps files on your PC. Its settings and sign-in are stored in
%APPDATA%\MyPitwall, with uploads waiting to be sent and a log file,recorder.log, which rolls over at 4 MB and keeps one older copy. The log stays on your PC unless you send it to us; Open log folder in the agent’s Settings shows it.
What it sends to Scorsa
While you are signed in, the agent uploads your sessions and the data you have switched on, and streams your live session to the people who can watch it. Who can see that data depends on your choices. The Privacy Policy lists each kind of data, what it is for and how to switch it off, and the agent’s Murretto page lists everything it is sending.
About once a minute it also reports its own health: its version and Windows version, which sim and track it is on, whether its connections are working, upload counts and its last error. It carries no telemetry, audio or video.
Switching a sim off on its page stops the agent recording it. Signing out of the agent removes its sign-in and stops uploads.
Updates
The agent checks for a new version shortly after it starts and every six hours. When one is available, it tells you, and installs it only when you choose. Before running an update it checks that Scorsa signed it, and refuses one that isn’t signed. The update installs over the current version and restarts the agent.
This agreement applies to updates, unless an update comes with a new agreement.
Third-party and open-source components
The agent includes open-source software and other third-party components. Each is licensed under its own terms, and nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences.
Some features work with software from others, such as Windows, your sims, Custom Shaders Patch and SimHub. Their own terms apply to that software.
Sims and their publishers
Murretto and the agent are independent. They are not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by the makers of any sim they support (see Simulators and trademarks). You need your own licence for each sim.
You stay responsible for using the agent within your sim’s terms and the rules of any league or series you race in, including rules on telemetry tools, overlays, spotters and remote pit service. Sim updates can change or break what the agent can do.
Ownership
Scorsa and its licensors own the agent, including its code, design and names. This agreement gives you a licence to use it, not ownership, and we keep every right it doesn’t give you.
The data the agent records is yours. The Your content section of the Terms sets out the licence you give us to run Murretto with it.
Ending this licence
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the agent. We may end your licence if you break this agreement or the Terms, or if your account is closed, as set out in Suspension and ending. When it ends, stop using the agent and uninstall it.
Uninstalling doesn’t delete data the agent already uploaded. Delete that in Murretto, or delete your account. The ownership, liability and governing law sections continue after this agreement ends.
Warranties and liability
Nothing in this agreement excludes, restricts or changes any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have by law that can’t be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows, the agent is provided as it is and as available, and the liability terms in the Terms of Service apply to it, including the limit on our total liability.
The agent runs beside your sims and other software on a PC we don’t control. We can’t promise it will work with every PC, sim version or setup, or that it will never miss data. Test features that act in the sim, such as pit service and the engineer’s calls, before relying on them in a race. Keep copies of setups you can’t afford to lose before you turn on the team folder mirror.
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws in force in Australia, and the courts of Australia can hear any dispute about it. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections that the law where you live says can’t be taken away.
Changes to this licence
We may update this agreement. We’ll post the new version here with its date and version, and tell you by email or in the app before significant changes apply. When a change needs your agreement, we ask you to accept the new version before you carry on using Murretto. If you don’t agree, stop using the agent and uninstall it.
